Solvelingua

Roadmap

Where Solvelingua is headed. The game is in early preview and changes almost every day, so this is a plan, not a promise, and we don't give dates. To see what's already arrived, read the changelog.

Up next

More languages to play in

Today the menus, feedback, lessons and translations come in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Next, the languages you can already learn become languages you can play in too, so a French speaker can learn Spanish with everything explained in French.

More cities for the languages already here

A language sounds different in every city, so one city per language isn't enough. Spanish in Madrid and Portuguese in Lisbon are first in line, along with more neighbourhoods to explore in the cities that are open now.

Polish from players' reports

You can flag anything a character says that looks wrong, and the game tells us about its own errors and slow loads. We read all of it and fix what it turns up, with a special eye on phones and slower connections.

Later

New languages to learn

The plan is to teach every language our conversation and voice system can speak well. Each one arrives with a city where it's spoken, local voices and its own lessons. Still to come:

Before a language opens, we test how well the characters speak it and how natural its voices sound, and it only ships when both are good enough to learn from. Languages with new writing systems, like Chinese tones and characters or Arabic's right-to-left script, take the most work, so they'll come later than the rest.

Always

A fuller life in every city

Every city keeps getting more to do in its language: new people with their own voices and memories, errands, jobs, festivals on the city's real calendar, and the sounds of its streets. Everything new comes to every city, with words and customs that fit the place.
